(Ottumwa, IA) \u2013 November 10, 2016 \u2013 Convenience store chain Yesway<\/a> today announced the grand opening of four Ottumwa, Iowa, and one Centerville, Iowa, stores. Yesway now offers an enhanced shopping experience, neighborly customer service, and competitively priced gas at its new stores, which feature new and upgraded facilities both inside and out.<\/p>\n

A grand opening event will be held in celebration on Friday, November 11th<\/sup> from 4:00 p.m. \u2013 6:00 p.m. and on Saturday, November 12th<\/sup> from 11:00 a.m. \u2013 1:00 p.m. at Yesway\u2019s 2508 North Court Street location in Ottumwa, with local radio stations New Country 104.3 KRKN-FM and TOM-FM 97.7 broadcasting live each day respectively. The event will also mark the kick-off of a month-long fundraiser benefiting Reading Buddies, a new volunteer program from the United Way of Wapello County (UWWC) in partnership with the Ottumwa Community Schools, that focuses on improving reading skills for 2nd and 3rd grade students. Reading Buddy volunteers will meet one-on-one with a student to read together before or after school in order to help develop and improve their literacy skills. Throughout the fundraiser, 5 cents from every cup of coffee purchased at Yesway\u2019s Ottumwa and Centerville stores will be donated directly to the organization.<\/p>\n

To kick off the celebration, Yesway will hold a ribbon cutting on Friday, November 11th<\/sup> from 2:30 p.m. \u2013 3:00 p.m., which is open to the public. Local residents will join Yesway at the ceremony including Ottumwa community members, local dignitaries, representatives from Reading Buddies and the United Way of Wapello County, as well as Yesway team members and executives. Blaire Siems, Executive Director, and Ali Wilson, Volunteer Engagement Director for the UWWC, will also be on-hand for the ceremony as Yesway begins its month-long fundraiser for the organization.<\/p>\n

Grand opening attendees will enjoy free coffee and food, Yesway giveaways and freebies, special deals, and have a chance to win exciting prizes. Ottumwa residents are also encouraged to join Yesway\u2019s social media community on Facebook<\/a> and Twitter<\/a> and share their photos from the event.<\/p>\n

Brian Trout, Yesway’s Senior Vice President of Operations, said that the grand opening marks an exciting time for Yesway and for the area. \u201cWe envision this as the start of a long-standing partnership with the citizens of Ottumwa, and we look forward to delivering terrific customer service to everyone who visits our stores. That\u2019s why we\u2019ll be donating 5 cents from every cup of Yesway coffee sold over the next month to the Reading Buddies program in Ottumwa.
